Trainer Diana Rothman Norris

Diana has been involved with horses since the age of six.  She grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado enjoying trail riding, cattle drives and competing in hunter jumper events.  In college she supported herself by working summers at a ranch in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and volunteering at the local jumper barn as an exercise rider for lessons.  She had the opportunity to ride and learn from many different breeds of horses.

Diana spent several years after graduation working on the race tracks in the Eastern United States.  She earned her way to an assistant trainer position and traveled the world with race horses.  She was responsible for nutrition, soundness and conditioning of these great athletes.  After years of traveling, Diana decided to take her career down a different path.  She moved back to Colorado and set out to get her certification with John Lyons.  She implements that education into training others to communicate clearly with their horses.

With a background in hunter jumper and galloping race horses, the trust and partnership it takes to guide a horse through a cross-country course, and the obedience of a dressage test, the sport of eventing was perfect.  Currently Diana completed the instructor training program for the USEA (United States Eventing Association), and received the recommendation from Phyllis Dawson (represented the USA for Olympics in 1988 and many other international titles, as well as faculty member of the ICP program/instructor certification program) to become a Level 1 ICP Instructor for the USEA.  Diana plans on going for her assessment  to complete the rest of her requirements.  Diana has trained with many respected trainers in the sport of eventing such as John Staples (long listed for Olympics in 1992, 1996 and coached the Costa Rica National Team) and Jean Moyer, who assisted in coaching the Canadian Olympic Team.

Diana has brought many younger and older horses to multiple levels in eventing and dressage.  Diana has the ability to teach you how to develop a long lasting working partnership with your horse.  With safety as the number one priority, she emphasizes patience and trust to build that partnership as well as keeping lessons fun and positive.
